Within the house, gardens and woodlands there are many options for the location of the wedding ceremony, drinks reception and wedding dinner, or indeed for smaller dinners or functions on the day before or after the wedding. The house has a number of reception rooms of different sizes. These include a double-height entrance hall and a large first-floor gallery area, all with elaborate decorative plasterwork. The white chapel can be used for ceremonies and for the late night disco. In addition there is a banqueting hall with doors to wonderful gardens and courtyards to the east, west and south of the room. This is the largest reception room in the house and can seat up to 180 guests. The courtyard is lit up at night with lanterns to create a truly magical space. The gardens have Italianate terraces, fountains, lakes and woodlands which provide a magical backdrop for any celebration.
You may hold your ceremony at Gloster, either indoors or outdoors. Indoors there are many options ranging from the music room or gallery in the house to the white chapel across the courtyard which can accommodate larger numbers. Subject to the weather, there are also many open or shaded options in the gardens.
There are also a number of churches available in the nearby towns of Birr, Roscrea, Coolderry and Shinrone.

Food and Drink
We have a small panel of recommended caterers who provide the perfect combination of delicious food and total professionalism. After you have discussed your individual requirements with the caterer of your choice we then take over and liaise with their team in the lead up to, and during, the wedding day. You can have as much or as little involvement as you wish.
On the day of the wedding we make no corkage charges for drinks consumed during the drinks reception and wine for the wedding dinner and for these you may bring your own and have it served by your caterer.

As we only host one wedding per week, a second day event is a very popular option. This allows you to host an informal celebration at Gloster where you and your guests can unwind and enjoy exploring the gardens and grounds. For this event, the house, grounds, banqueting room and courtyard are at your disposal for a delicious pig-on-a-spit buffet, drinks and music.
You’ve worked hard creating the perfect wedding, you deserve a day to relax!

We had our wedding at Gloster House in July this year and it was absolutely the best decision we could have made! The venue is spectacular – so many of our guests told us it was the best wedding venue they’d ever seen. Tom and Mary are the perfect hosts, combining a personal approach with the utmost professionalism. They unfailingly responded to our many many questions in the lead up to the day and were on hand to make sure everything came together seamlessly on the day. We booked Gloster House for three nights and held a bbq in the gardens the day after. We felt so at home the whole time and there were a few tears when we left. An unforgettable and exceptional place to celebrate such an important milestone with friends and family.Gwen & Peter. July 2017
We had our wedding in the beautiful Gloster House in September 2016, and I cannot recommend it enough as a wedding venue. From the start, the owners Mary and Tom were personable, relaxed and extremely helpful with planning the day. They had solutions for any issues that arose and recommendations for how to make the day a relaxed affair for everyone. On the wedding day, we had the ceremony in a beautifully decorated room. Then drinks and canapés outside in the sunshine taking in the views of the amazing grounds and the meal in the fabulous dinning room, which again was decorated in the most lovely way. In the evening the courtyard was decorated with candles and fairy lights, it was very magical to sit out with drinks and chat to our guests. All the staff were friendly and helpful, and any requests were dealt with efficiently. Our guests have all commented that it was an amazing wedding, relaxed and fun, made even more special by the little touches that Tom, Mary and their son Nigel had put in place. Gloster House is a truly special place and we feel very lucky to have had our wedding there. It was a fabulous day and If we had to do it again we would not change a single thing.Alex & Hazel. We got engaged at the end of a year spent travelling and visited lots of potential venues on our return to Ireland. Gloster House was the first we viewed and none others came close for us – as a venue it was absolutely stunning, and we, our friends and our family were very well looked after by Mary, Tom, Nigel and the rest of the team on the big day. Highly recommended!Sinéad & Niall. Oct 2016
Having looked at a good number of wedding venues in County Dublin we decided to extend our search beyond the pale. We were extremely fortunate to find the perfect combination of: a house to get married in; a unique reception room with an adjoining courtyard which our guests enjoyed into the evening underneath the magically lit trees and finally the surrounding gardens that we got to enjoy before, during and after the wedding day. Last but not least dealing with Tom and Mary was second to none. They were fantastic leading up to and during our special day. We cannot recommend Gloster House enough as a unique venue to get married in! For us, other venues did not even come close as Gloster allowed us to shape the key things we liked (with a personal touch) versus an off the shelf offering.Sean & Linda. August 2016
